I Am Madysen Isenhour.

I picked up a camera because I was scared of forgetting things. The way someone laughs when they’re not trying to be cool. The way your hometown looks at 6 pm in the summer. The way love shows up in small, the ways that don’t make it onto social media.

Photography started as a way for me to hold onto moments. It turned into the way I understand the world.

I’m based in Pennsylvania, though I do travel, and I shoot a mix of weddings, portraits, and personal projects that usually start as a random idea I can’t get out of my head. I’m drawn to real emotion. Not stiff poses. Not forced smiles. I want the in-between. The messy.

When I photograph a wedding, I’m paying attention to the way your hands shake before you walk down the aisle. The way your friends look at you when you’re not watching. The hug from your grandma that lasts a little longer than usual. Those are the things that matter to me.

This blog is going to be a mix of everything. Finished galleries. Behind the scenes thoughts. Things I’m learning. Things I’m questioning. Probably some oversharing about creativity and self doubt too, because that is part of it.

I care about making images that feel like you. Not a trend. Not a copy of someone else’s Pinterest board. You.
